Steve agree on ur views, Lucent can cut excess capacity from 3com. I believe, Lucent could sell parts of 3com and squeeze the best of 3com for it's future growth. In addition, Lucent is looking for real cash cows to maintain their growth trend.

Steve: DSL...DSL...DSL also Cable modems. Phone companies have to "modernize" their operations and systems...Voice,Video, & Data will be bundled and transmitted over "Fiber Optics" (cable). Copper lines are extremely limited in lamda (wavelength)...fiber optics definitely the future. 3com is well positioned in this technology.
