Globe says CryptoLogic first quarter slightly better than expected
CryptoLogic Inc CRY
Shares issued 8,479,945 1999-04-22 close $26.55
Friday Apr 23 1999
The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, April 23, edition that CryptoLogic advanced 40 cents to $26.55 yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The Globe's Market Movers column reports that CryptoLogic yesterday posted first-quarter revenue of $8.3-million (U.S.) and a profit of $5.4-million. That performance is slightly higher than estimates from Sprott Securities analyst Brandon Osten, who was expecting revenue of $7.5-million and profit of 32 cents a diluted share. CryptoLogic is a leader in the Internet gambling industry and Mr. Osten says its recent announcement that it will pursue a listing on the Nasdaq Stock Market is a good move that, if approved, will give this undervalued stock much-need United States exposure.
