<<<< I beg to differ. Right now I would bet that T is

That's the only way this deal gets done. >>>

I never said "T" wanted to piss off MSFT or Comcast. "T" did not bid for UMG to piss anybody off. The bid is just a good business decision on "T"'s part, it has nothing to do with getting even with somebody or dropping a gauntlet. I did say MSFT did not want to piss off "T". This is similar to my belief that "T" does not want to piss anybody off. I believe it the best interest of all remaining companies to work out a satisfactory deal. I think we are in basic agreement in this belief.

<<< T cannot afford a bidding war. T's stock is already severely
extended and Armstrong could not afford a war with
Comcast that is funded by MSFT. Teflon >>>>

That whole scenario is very questionable IMO, however, I am sure nobody except maybe UGM stockholders wants a bidding war. As far as i'm concerned, my belief in this matter does not significantly differ with what you said above.
I may have laid it on too heavy about "T" being the big bad top dog
in the neighborhood. This may have led you to misunderstand my message (I did not mean to say they wanted to pick a fight).
