OT to SB: If you're referring to my comment to Ted David on the CNBC Critique thread, I wouldn't hold you to the same standards as a CNBC announcer. 1. You're probably talking to a small subset of perhaps 100,000 SI readers of the SemiEquipment threads. Maria is broadcasting live to millions of much less sophisticated investors. 2. Most SI readers have a reasonable grasp of the games that Analysts play. Most TV viewers assign much more credibility than is due to a news reader (teleprompter reader) or the "money honey" as she seems to like hearing herself being referred to by the NYSE regulars. 3. It's a generally accepted practice to post this type of news as information for all to assess as early as it is received. Journalistic standards and ethics dictate a different process for newscasters before broadcasting completely unfounded rumours. Sure, we'll all get caught passing on some Analyst's bs. But we should all be aware that this is a very real risk of using these Internet boards. FWIW, Ian.
