Monday morning we will be getting the short interests numbers for Vivus through April 15, 1999. This of course will not include shorting that occurred the following day as Vivus dropped from an opening of 6 and traded down to 5 1/32 on 7.5 million shares traded. I would conservatively estimate that on that day alone the short interest increased bt 2 million shares. Where are these manipulators going to get the shares to cover as more good news comes out each week. What about when Vivus finally inks that long awaited domestic partnering deal. There are a lot of little fish who are not traders and who have been accumulating shares over the past 6 to 17 months because they actually have a grip on the fundamentals.
