amic,

I heard that AMD hired a lot of Digital engineers who did not want to work for CPQ? Is this true?

Sounds entirely possible. The K7 architect (Dirk Meyer) is an ex-Alpha guy.

amic - "....being able to put together a product like the K7 is downright amazing.....nor does it mean they will be able to produce the thing."

If they can't produce the K7 in volume, then they haven't really put together a product. This is only business, not about bragging rights, as some seem to view it.

I'm not saying they won't produce it, but there is no evidence to this point from any other ramp, they they will do it well. Where is the K6-3?
