This is probably going to sound naive as hell, but can anyone explain why LOR just doesn't launch with the Soviet's and stay away from the Delta platform ? Henry

Boeing says it will likely be Monday before the Range can establish an available date for another launch attempt. The Eastern Range, operated by the Air Force, provides tracking and safety services to all launches from Cape Canaveral Air Station and Kennedy Space Center along Florida's Space Coast. Further complicating matters will be the scheduled launch of an Air Force Titan 4B rocket next Friday from Cape Canaveral. Since the Range requires 48 hours between launches to reconfigure equipment, the Delta 3 would have to be launched no later than Wednesday, April 28 or else face waiting until Sunday, May 2. Thursday's attempt to launch the Delta 3 rocket was halted in dramatic fashion when the first stage main engine and vernier engines failed to ignite. Engineers say the countdown sequencer computer did not send the engine start command. Boeing is continuing its troubleshooting today to determine why the command was not issued to the rocket.
