I disagree with you, LindyBill. But that's ok, a little friendly disagreement is healthy. I don't see MSFT buying any fat leftovers like DEC, and I am not worried about them paying a premium for a company that, when combined with MSFT's properties, would create a higher premium for MSFT's shareholders.

The only way we start to get the type of price appreciation going forward (over the long term) in MSFT that we have become accustomed to is by expanding our PE multiple significantly. We will not be able to do this through W2k and the rest of MSFT's current product portfolio.

In order for MSFT to expand its multiple significantly, it needs to make substantial investments into the ecommerce and internet markets. And this is exactly what I believe will happen.
