Robert,

The Republican Congress can lay claim to “pushing” through deficit reduction, not Bill Clinton.

The 1993 Deficit Reduction Act passed without a single Republican vote. Bob Dole warned that it would lead the country into recession.

That bill cut the deficit in half. The remainder of the budget balancing was pushed through by Newt Gingrich and the Congressional Republicans after Bob Dole's departure.

Robert,

Bill has never “pushed” anything

The people of Haiti and Yugoslavia might feel differently. The Bush administration was too timid to help those countries out.

Had George Bush been reelected, we would be looking at $300 billion deficits right now.
