Actually the thing is more complicated. What I heard
is that Xilinx had more orders than they could deliver
for their new products in the last quarter. As you may
know, Xlnx new 0.25 products are mostly produced by
UMC/USIC. Apparently, the yield over there is
not good enough. I tentatively guess XLNX is having the
same problem that AMD is facing now. Just the AMD's
issue may be more severe than XLNX's since XLNX is
only owning a quarter of the USIC fab. Anyway, I wish
my guessing is wrong, or it can be fixed by them
in the near future.
