PR Newswire- Microsoft Inc, (NASADQ MSFT) confirmed that it had detonated a 20 megaton underground thermonuclear device at 02:35 PST on April 24. Steve Ballmer, president of the Redmond Washington company, noted that "Microsoft retains the rights to perform testing and research" and that the technology was intended for "defensive purposes only".
