I've tried to follow MediaOne because as a Broadcom shareholder I'm interested in what their digital set-top box strategy is. As far as I can tell MediaOne's big push is for open systems, and they have basically entered into partnerships with everyone. In other words, they've tried to make a system where their local franchise can use whichever set-top box vendor they'd like to deliver the services at the home. However, I don't know whether the same holds true at the head-end. It seems to me that at that point, you really can't use a variety of vendors. If Cablespan is winning business from MediaOne, that's a great foot in the door.
