From the web Motley Fool board,

The poster (Vin) said,

"I liked the sound of the following quote from PC Magazine, May 25th, 1999:"

Reportedly, several manufacturers will announce digital cameras that save directly to Clik! Drive cartridges and completely bypass memory cards.

Editorial comment: I've always wondered if it was possible to save images directly to a Clik! disk without some type of interim temporary "electronic" storage. Apparently it is possible.

David, its only a guess, but I believe that these figures will be revealed in the conference call for the 2nd Qtr. Unless there is a big increase in sales revenues in the coming months we may be in for a big downward surprise when 2nd Qtr "earnings" are announced. On the other hand we may have some positive announcements that will help make up for these one time charges. What might these announcements be? A winning Agfa camera with built-in Click drive. Good sales of Clik! systems and Zip 250s in both retail and OEMs. More digital camera companies getting on board with Clik! capabilities by including Clik! in bundles, designing a Clik! slot for small form Clik! drives. Announcements related to MP3 music initiative and Iomega with some big names in the music distribution business. News related to continuing suit against ORB manufacturer as part of taking over Syquest intellectual assets. Release of USB Clik! by NEC. Positive response to marketing Zip and Jaz solutions for Y2K backup of personal data. There are other possible news releases that could be announced at the PC Expo in NYC this June as Iomega has used this event for major announcements in the past. So, unless we hear otherwise, we had better brace ourselves for some continuing negative numbers at the end of the coming Qtr. Still Long... Mel
