Steve: Which companies are you talking about that have "leverage" over 3com pertaining to ADSL expertise? Consider this...wouldn't you want to own the "last gas station" that would fill up your tank to make the final destination ? Moving communications along the "communications highway" no different than moving traffic along the highway. At present it (traffic) is heavy...bandwidth is a factor...that is why ADSL will be the solution to moving more Voice, Video, & Data through ADSL...guess who has a strong "foothold" in cable modems...you guessed it correctly...3com! When analysts become more "technically familiar"
with "potential" then you and I will witness the explosive movement into the "Information Revolution"....much bigger than the Industrial Revolution! Signal processing is not well understood by the common investor nor by many "technical analyst's". We have only scratched the surface...what is coming down the "pipeline" of R&D will blow one's mind in a couple of years! Thin film technology is advancing very rapidly which certainly will cause a drop in mfg cost in the computer sector...this in turn will allow many more individuals to "drive" along the "Information Highway"! Ten to 20yrs from now at the most...individuals will be doing a considerable amt of work at home! This will eventually spread throughout the world and contribute to an increase in living standards! Greenspan has reflected such in several "talks" that he has made relative to the impact of technology. It isn't too far away when mkts will be "open" 24hrs! Benhamou is correct concerning the need for more technically qualified individuals in servicing the industry! There is a "tremendous" shortage in this area and I expect the educational institutions will be "gearing up"!

Good luck...stay focused and be patient!
