Ron, yes I think that much distribution will go from point of manufacture to point of consumption. This sounds more expensive when the consumer pays the $10 shipping directly, but is in fact much less expensive overall as it eliminates a lot of warehousing, retail space and multiple trips.

The cost of going shopping, in terms of transportation expense will be reduced, not to mention the time involved.

As a person interested in reducing dependence on the automobile, I especially like this scenario.
