It could also mean that the final silicon is done and therefore, he is not needed there anymore.

You will note that this gentleman seems to have been at LSI before NSM.

WOnder how he came to NSM ?

HallaPeno brought in his buddy - since HallaPeno came to NSM from LSI as well !

My guess is this guy is being "promoted" out of the way - in order to get somebody else in that fab to figure out what's wrong with the 0.18 micron "ROADMAP".

Seems to be headed into a DEAD END.
