My point on the margin is a matter of impact rather than actual damage control. The Fed carries weight and to curb the margin is to limit OVERALL trading turnover. IBM up 24 or QCOM 57 may not happen because less borrowed money is in place. I think if it were coupled with futures margin curbs on the NAZ and SPX, you'd have some fear selling and less volatility
