Picked up some AVID earlier on oversell. They are still the premier software maker for digital editing of film and audio. The demand for this only increases as broadcasts and archival footage are adapted and edited for use on the Next Generation Internet.

I think it will return to 20 in the not too distant future. Also, IMO, Avid would be a great company for a company like Sony to buy up. Remember Sony pictures? And even more importantly, Sony chose Avid to partner with for developing the software for Sony's "Next Generation Playstation," which uses DVD technology. . . hello?

I bought some long today.

TPEGP vs. TPEG

If 1 preferred is convertible to 1.25 common, why is TPEGP trading at a discount to TPEG? How long does it take to convert preferred into common - if it's anywhere under a couple days, buying TPEGP could be a great way of getting TPEG common on the cheap. That isn't reflected in the prices - what am I missing.

would apprec. any help on this,
TIA,
d
