Russia will not risk mutually assured destruction and the deaths of tens of millions of it's own people and the end of civilization as we know in support of a regime that while symbolically related through Slavic blood carries with it a liability and a moral debt to society that even the Russians won't co-sign.

If they wouldn't use those nukes in the 40+ years of the Cold War on their own behalf, they're not going to use them to come to the "rescue" of a renegade state led by a rogue despot.
