Are they only going to stick with what they build?

This may be a can of worms: -

1. With the small real difference in x86 CPU speeds, competitors
could use CPUs that run at 80% of max speed but typically sell for substantially less. Or even (heaven help us) use K9 chips?

2. Intel would have the advantage in 4-way/8-way servers but
is this the type of machine they plan to put in farms?

3. What about Unix (Alpha/Sparc) servers?

4. Lastly, nothing can beat a real mainframe for raw transaction processing power.
