Jon: YOUR WORDS MAY VERY WELL COME TRUE! Compac Board acted decisively...Iridium Board acted decisively...hoping that 3com Board will follow lead...expect announcement over the weekend...most likely Sunday. Benhamou & Cadre have "screwed" WS, Shareholders, and employees who have placed their "retirement $$$" in the organization! Morale is quite low from what I hear from sources in the valley. I expect that Claflin will become the "shooting star" and replace Benhamou. Once this is announced...Claflin will "clean house"...he is quite a leader and will "protect" shareholders interests. Expect him to "recruit" some experienced talent from his old firm (IBM), and to form a stronger "alliance" with IBM & Microsoft! Claflin did not hop on this boat six to eighth months ago to "step aside" when a new crew comes in to "sail the boat"...new owner(s) will want their Own personnel in "Key" positions. I am going to go "out on a limb" and predict that Benhamou will depart as CEO...Bruce Claflin will assume position...Claflin is well "respected" by WS and is thought quite highly amongst his peers. Sooooo....this may be why WS is reacting with heavy volumn...they know what is coming...I don't know...but am hoping that I am correct. Benhamou is a damn good Engineer...no doubt about it...but certainly lacking in Management ability! Doubt if he could "swallow" working under Claflin but he could certainly contribute significantly to Engineering side of Business...although it would be difficult for him to make such a "drastic" adjustment! I don't think WS would want him to remain in the company as Chairman either....so he will "exit" with the "balanced best interests" of 3com in mind. My fingers are "crossed"!
