3Com has had cable and ADSL modems for some time now, they're doing the same thing they did before in beating the competition to market...simply using DSP chips so they can upgrade the software. The G.lite standard will be finalized in June and Aware,Inc. said in their CC that it doesn't look like any changes will occur between now and then. Also you can go to Circuit City or Best Buy and places like that and buy CPQ PCs with ADSL modems included in them...NOW. It doesn't take much to see that Zoom is a day late and a dollar short...again. Dell will provide you a PC with a Cisco modem installed. As David said, there will be a new group of modem makers this time around to compete with.

I too am watching Zoom, but I'm not going to invest in them based on their intentions. Let's see their product and who's DMT they're using along with the compatability of it...AND whether it's capable of G.lite and or ADSL heavy.
