John, regarding Gs interests vs service providers, one important clue is on page 7 of GSTRFs 10K: To keep their exclusivity, SPs have to make minmimum payments to G of 50% of a "target revenue" and these payments presently total about 5B$ through 2006. It's not clear how often the test is applied or how quickly G* could pull the exclusivity, but the above point should be pretty strong incentive for the SPs to at least make their targets.
