Well stated, bp, and that was what I was trying to get at. By the neighbors making that "normal" statement, they implicated themselves, and the rest of us, as being part of the problem. They are in essence saying that because they APPEARED normal, they must be normal, and everything was alright with the family. They were endorsing the lifestyle that led to this tragedy. It tells me nothing was learned from the event, at least in these people's minds. What I was trying to get at is that when we look at these statements, we see ourselves, what we have become, and what we have wrought.
