Seems to me that a password is a unique serial number,..and should be all that is necessary to use an internet service.

Watch out for the poor soul who gets his/her computer stolen, only to find the thieves were after the "unique serial number " and guess what??? the police are at his door to find out why he/she is sending illegal porn over the net or buying millions of dollars of something he/she can't afford.

russett, keeping his pentium II, for now

All,

Anyone else who is also concerned about this consider also messaging AMD and suggesting, lets extend it to software as well, a "Computer Privacy Campaign" "CPC" for short, as in "CPC Certified".

Add a comment on your favorite other chats or newsgroups, as I find more links in this vein I will post them.
