Tim,

Alibra is a new version of Muse that will make viagra obsolete

In Alibra the pellet contsins two drugs alprostadil and prazosin - Muse has only the former

Alibra testing is now in phase III, approval soon.

Prazosin like alprostadil is an approved drug, thus it is unlikely that approval for alibra will not be given (this example of Vivus strategy of focusing on already approved drugs)

One journal publication and the AUA and Amsterdam conference abstracts indicate that Alibra is more effective overall than Muse.

The inclusion of prazosin the pellet makes Alibra suitable for psychogenic ED sufferers as well as organic sufferers. Thus Alibra will compete better than Muse with Viagra in certain patient groups.

Because there will be only 125ug of alprostadil in the pellet, pain will be reduced and eliminated in many users will thus be eliminated.

Lower alprostadil will reduce side effects, such as hypotension and occasional fainting - this supported by published evidence.

A smaller pellet might result in less discomfort as it is dispersed in the urethra

An improved sexy applicator

It has been said that alibra can be stored at room temperature. No tricky questions "what's this in the fridge Mom" ((NB, muse retains activity for up to two weeks at room temperature - see vivus.com. It is possible that admixture with prazosin stabilises alprostadil. There is evidence that stability of alprostadil is affected in mixtures.)

Only single dose, thus no embarrassing titration with doctor needed.

Because of low alprostadil content it could be marketed profitably at perhaps 25% or less of the cost of muse.

Alibra provides Vivus with excellent bargaining position for partner/buyout because Astra Janssen do not have alibra distribution rights!

We have to believe that it will be marketed by a large experienced company!

There is even the possibility that Alibra will be OTC

Tim...Alibra is the next generation ED product that Vivus has in Phase III FDA trials now.

It's expected to be completed with the trials by Sept 99 and then submitted to the FDA for final review.

Should be onsale by 2nd qtr yr 2000.

The comparison of Alibra to Muse :
Alibra can be stored at room temp, Muse can not.
Alibra is more efficent that Muse.
Alibra is a blend of two drugs.
Alibra has less side effects than Muse.
Alibra cost less to produce than MUSE.
Alibra is smaller than MUSE.
Alibra comes in one single dose size, Muse has three dose sizes.
Expect sales of Alibra to exceed those of Muse worldwide as it is fully launched.

Expect the launch of Alibra to be much faster than MUSE.
Expect current partners to pay additional milestone payments for the rights to sell Alibra.

Expect Vivus to have both products available for sale in yr 2000 and beyond.

NEW and improved better than MUSE.

Tim...just read Dais response....he said it much better that I did..

Alibra is the next step into the future for Vivus to become a bigger player in the biotech field.

Vivus will use the profits from Muse and Alibra to continue to fund their other works in progress in the R&D pipeline.
