I agree. The Nikkei went from 39,000 to 29,000 in about two months, which by the way that move came literally out of no where. The two months that led into the bearmarket prices closed at the highs of the month which implies great strength in prices. And then of course the rout began. When you think about it it has to start this way in order to catch the majority of the investing public on the wrong side. So I would hope that no one assumes that this "new paradigm" will not someday include a severe bear market. Every major move on a chart that I have ever looked at, regardless of it being a company or index has always had some sort of significant pull back. When you consider DOW 10,000 (now) or DOW 40,000 somewhere down the road. Any serious retracement of those moves would indeed be "scary."

I just hope I see it coming.
