A 400 mz G 4 Lombard notebook .9 inch thick less than 4 pounds

The G 4 PowerPC element could have caused today's spike:

" Apple Computer showed dealers its next-generation PowerBook computer line behind closed doors at the National Association of Broadcasters Conference in Las Vegas this week, according to sources close to the company.

The forthcoming unit, code-named Lombard, is reportedly at least as thin as Sony's 0.9-inch Vaio portable, and will feature processor speeds starting at 400 MHz with the next-generation PowerPC G4 processor. "
