Some more points about Vinik:

Vinik played Vivus before back in 1997. He also has been known to create short squeezes. His partner George Soros last year was one of the top 10 institutional holders of Vivus stock! I don't know what Soros' holdings are now. If you call Nina she might be able to tell you.

It is the SEC form showing all the shares Vinik bought back in mid 1997. Looks like most purchases were in the 20 to 30 range.

At $4.00-5.00/share he would only have to invest $6-8M to show up as a 5% owner on the SEC registration form.
