Don't forget I mentioned that I have accessed my AOL account through Roadrunner for almost a year. It is not mandatory for AOL to own a cable company to access AOL through a cable modem. Cable modem companies are just ISP's and cannot logically restrict access (negitive for business) to AOL. SO AOL charges me less because I have my own ISP and AOL saves money by not supplying additional dial up phone numbers.

I agree it would be nice if AOL had their own cable modem company but it would not put them out of business.
