COPS: WIMBERLEY STUDENTS PLANNED SCHOOL BOMBING
MURDER PLOT. Long before the shooting rampage at Columbine High in Colorado, Hays County Sheriff's deputies say five 14-year-old boys were plotting a similar assault at a middle school in Wimberley. Wimberley is about 35 miles southwest of Austin.

THE CHARGES. The five boys are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit arson, and conspiracy to manufacture explosives. Their names are not being released, because they're juveniles. All of them are being held at the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center.

THE TARGET. According to deputies, the students were targeting Danforth Middle School. They allegedly planned to kill some teachers, as well as students. Deputies will not say what exactly the boys were planning to do - or why. But deputies say the students started forming the plans around the beginning of the year.

The weirdness continues....

Manchester students charged with conspiracy in alleged plot to bomb school

Christina Feerick, NBC12 News

The massacre in Colorado has hit close to home here in the Richmond area. Two Chesterfield students are charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder. These are very serious charges.

Yesterday, the students faced larceny charges for allegedly stealing a master key and some radios. Today, they're charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder and manufacture explosive devices.
Chesterfield County Police said the stolen key and alleged bombing scheme at Manchester High School were not intended to copy the Colorado crimes, instead, the two teens charged were making plans to manufacture bombs long before the Littleton massacre.
Rumors flew around the school Thursday about a possible bombing incident. By later that day, both suspects were charged. Police say the two stole a master key to the school and some radios. Officers did find bomb making information…but no bombs. Superintendent Dr. Bill Bosher said that for a crime like this, no penalty is too stiff.

“If I'm going to be criticized, it's going to be criticized on the side of safety. And for those who want to take their shots at us for being too heavy handed, then we're just going to keep on coming. Because until we get this kind of behavior at the roots, we're going to keep working at it because we're going to protect the rights of everyone before we protect the rights of someone,” Dr. Bosher said.
Police said although the student's plans were in the works, there was no date set for the bombing. School officials said that both teens would be expelled.
