Richard,

Could you explain why changing the date like that protects you?

Also, is this an email-borne virus, and what kind of package does it come in?

Thanks,
wily

You are a genius. Thank you for the easy solution to CIH. I was still awake at 3 AM worrying about the virus. I changed by name on SI this week. I am the LL that you sent the 3-page description about a new computer to.

As always, thanks for your help.

Important NOT to panic over these Viruses and Trojan Horses. Just make sure you have taken precautions.

In my opinion, Netbus and Backorffice are worse. If Netbus is installed on your computer, and you have a mic installed or a video camera, the attacker can listen to you and see you, not to mention steal data, etc...etc...etc...)
