About time! These SI threads have been screaming about this for two years. Finally, someone from the news media catches the scent of the story. Either that, or these reporters aren't afraid of exposing the dirty little secrets like their brethren are.

Thanks for posting the article, Nick.

To Datek's credit, they don't sell order flow. As to the thieving MMs, and their "manual mode" highway robbery - the cure is more and more volume going through ECNs. The best would be if all ECNs got together to form some central limit book, but I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon. Next best would be to have one dominant ECN that keeps growing volume. ISLD seems to be the natural choice - and good for us, Datek customers. Whenever you get go through ISLD you get speedy executions, once you are snet out to the thieving MMs, basically, you're f****d - in my experience.

So, I hope ISLD keeps growing - and more traders use it... though if the growth is driven through Datek, we'll have the slow server problem. Wish Datek would fix that - I really don't want to go back to the days of "service unavailble". At this point it's like a repetitive mantra. May as well talk to a wall, for all the good it does.
