GST, I doubt this will impact sales of systems, but consumers may think twice when selecting which type of game to play on their system. I imagine that there will be more consumer interest group pressure on gaming companies to ease up on the gun violence in video games. Then you've got movies, music, clothing and lots of other things to blame as well. It never changes does it? Blame everything but the real cause: some kids treating other kids like crap in school because they lack strong guidance from their teachers and parents and there are no programs in place to encourage them how to get along and accept each others differences [except maybe if they are a minority or gay]. There's no law against being a mean spirited jerk to a kid who is awkward in some way. If it's just one kid getting picked on, made to feel like a weird creature or whatever, he/she suffers alone and in silence wishing he/she were never born. Seems like now these kinds of kids are finding each other and banding together. Just my opinion. I have a lot of experience working with highly gifted children and see what they have to put up with from their "peers" day in and out. Their teachers are also clueless and for the most part threatened by them as well! They are smarter than their teachers by a mile. Pretty sad state when we don't mentor the brightest children we've got for the good of our world, and encourage others to treat them well, so that they develop characteristics which will eventually lead them to do great things for the good of our world. Instead, I think society suppresses them intentionally, as a defense mechanism.....afraid to give control to the most intelligent among us. Well, don't get me started! <ggg> Short answer: imho, no worries. By the time PS2 comes out this terrible incident will have been forgotten and most will have moved on to the next crisis in the news. And in any event I think the games will be under pressure, not the systems themselves. E
