Gene, I actually did see that and didn't consider it important. Just the usual seasonal move for Dell, which is not a Xmas co. However, it was nice to see that Gateway's 4.3% worldwide market share certainly puts the lie to their 25% share of the consumer pc market lie in their press release. They could have meant US consumer market and the reporters skipped that important qualification.

Odd that IBM is not a player on the IDC list. <g> I think that is just an oversight. Also, the market share # on Dell doesn't jive with the growth figure.

So, if we had 25 million units 1Q, we have to somehow figure out how much ASPs declined. I have no idea. But any revenue growth is going to be muted, to say the least, if it isn't negative. And, with 27.3 million units sold 4Q, it isn't going to look so hot sequentially.
