Edwarda, if we were to spank everybody who makes that particular mistake, our arms would soon be worn down to the nub...

Actually, confusing "it's" and "its" is probably a less heinous crime than confusing "you're" and "your", or "they're" and "their". I say that because "it's" looks like a "normal" possessive. We write my aunt's pen, the man's hat, the people's will, etc., etc., so putting an apostrophe and an s after "it" to create a possessive probably comes naturally to the unwary.

I suggest a rap on the knuckles instead. <g>

I seem to remember an English teacher saying that
a phrase like that should be "all its juices" instead.
