same story for me on ebay...I was watching it but was busy at the time and couldn't be sure I'd be able to watch it as closely as I felt I would need to if I got in. Kept asking myself, "What's to keep any the the bigger fishies (yahoo, etc.) from just taking the market (or at least the fat margins) from them?"

Didn't have a good answer so I stayed out. Same type of reasoning saved me from doing AOL in early '95. AT&T was making plenty of noise at the time about watching to see if there was anything to the market. If so, they said they'd just take aol's lunch money and send them home. Besides, Prodigy and Compuserve were already out there and stuggling, and who was this Steve Case guy, anyway?

So, seems to me that there are plenty of barriers to entry for PNLK competitors; we already know who Glenn Z. is (cd thing, etc.); and independent analysts have declared b2b 'net biz to be exploding in the next couple of years.

Maybe this thing will fly a bit after all.
