George, he's not a maniac. He takes an extreme point of view and hurtles it over the edge at times. It's an issue of style.

When he hunkers down, he can be thought provoking. I appreciate this quality even when I think he's painted himself into a completely dotty corner and won't cede the point.

Father Terrence is my friend, George. I don't choose my friends simply because they agree with me (obviously) and will always defend them against mud slinging when I think it is not fair, particularly if they are not present to defend themselves. You and Terrence do not agree on much, but that does not make him a lesser being unworthy of being treated respectfully here.
