DualStar Technologies Elects Lloyd I. Miller, III to its Board of Directors
NEW YORK (Feb. 11) BUSINESS WIRE -Feb. 11, 1999--DualStar Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq:DSTR) announced today that Lloyd I. Miller, III has been elected to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Miller, 44, is a registered investment advisor, a member of
Technology Investors Group, LLC, and serves on the board of directors
of Porta Systems Corp. He has been a member of the Chicago Board of
Trade since 1978 and is a member of the Comex of New York and the
Chicago Stock Exchange. He is also active in several trade and
charitable organizations.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Miller graduated from Brown
University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He and his wife,
Dail, have four children and reside in Naples, Florida.

Mr. Miller's election increases the DualStar Board of Directors to
eight members. The other independent directors are Michael J.
Abatemarco, 43, and Raymond L. Steele, 63. Mr. Abatemarco is an
attorney, certified public accountant and professor of taxation,
accounting and law at Long Island University/C.W. Post campus, and was first elected to the Board in October 1997. Mr. Steele, a retired
financial executive, serves on the boards of directors of Emerson Radio Corp., I.C.H. Corporation, Pharmhouse Corp. and Video Services Corp.,and was elected to the DualStar Board at the most recent annual
shareholders meeting on December 16, 1998. The inside directors, all
members of the Board since August 1994, are the five founders and
senior executives of DualStar: Stephen J. Yager, Elven M. Tangel,
Armando Spaziani, Ronald Fregara and Gregory Cuneo. Mr. Cuneo was named Chairman of the Board on December 16, 1998. About DualStar
