Here's something else to talk about, which I don't believe that the thread has touched on:

1) Intel is involved in a major program in investments outside of its business, both as a passive investor (ventures) and as an acquiror (e.g., CHPS, LEVL). At the analysts meeting in NY this week, it talked about operating an outsourcing service for Web hosting. At the same time that Intel is diverting resources from the microprocessor business,

2) AMD is divesting significant involvements in order to focus more heavily on MPUs.

Instead of trying to ascertain the number of MHz on the heads of pins (to blend current and historic metaphors), maybe it's time for investors to step back and consider some of these strategic moves (both the driving forces and their potential consequences). - Tad LaFountain
