My favorite web site for SEC filings is: freeedgar.com It is easy to search for filings by ticker, etc., and you can create a watchlist and receive an e-mail whenever one of the companies you are following makes a filing. I also scrutinize the filings, especially 8Ks, 10Ks, 10Qs, 4s (insider buying and selling), etc. I do look at analyst reports, and sometimes find good nuggets of information, but I am like you: don't trust analysts, whose firms may have a vested interest in seeing the stock go up.
