JLA, I'm not sure of the statistics, but it makes sense to me that guns contribute to some degree toward violence created by guns. Of course there are many instances when guns prevent crimes. Or at least protect those who would be victims of crimes from performing their acts of violence.

It's really a very complex issue with a lot of gray's and no black and white answers. Contrary to the far left wing anti-gun zealots belief's. They would like nothing better than to send the police door to door throughout america and confiscate all weapons. That would be far more hideous IMHO.

We have always had very liberal gun ownership laws.

Questions 7. Why have guns become such a problem with regard to violence in the last few decades? Sure we had our Al Capone's in the past, but that was about it.

Michael

Here's another one, JLA, why does so much crap run out your ears? And why do we have yearly gun deaths in the 38k range, while most other advanced countries get into the hundreds at most?

In Switzerland and Denmark, reserve soldiers keep their automatics, etc. at home in case of mobilization. Not much "gun violence" though.
