No the Q phone is not up to Startac. I never figured out why, But Startac Battery and Talk is much better. In any regard Q Slim phone should eliviate that!

I know it's heresy but I just picked up a new digital startac and it is dynamite. I carry a palm pilot for some projects where I need to do a tick list or a spreadsheet calculation.. but on most days I carry a Rex... size of a biz card and with the startac they both fit in a shirt pocket.

As far as the new StarTac's and the previous question about ours being analog or digital. They were analog, but the digital's seem to have the same physical weaknesses (same hinge and antenna construction). The voice is supposed to be quite clear, so that probably wouldn't be a factor in selection. We had such bad experiences with the StarTac's construction that unless Motorola comes out and admits that they were junk and commits to fixing their quality (as Qualcomm did for the early Q-phones in so many words), I will never get another.

On the pdQ, I agree that they look too large. There's a new Samsung that I saw in an article on MSNBC or ZDNET (can't remember and I don't have time to check now). That smart phone looked like a very acceptable size. I still want to reserve judgement on the pdQ until I actually see one. I am positive that I want a combination e-mail, schedule, web-access, and phone in one. Whoever comes out with the best will have my business, and I'm sure a lot more.

BTW, the 8000 series of Nokia that's available in Europe (I'm visiting now) is very nice. The Motorola v-phone also looks good. Both are very tiny, but they're still missing the smarts.

Still very long on the Q :-)

Thanks,
Mike

Qualpec -

I am going to get a PdQ as soon as I can. It is as far as I am concerned the best. The next version of the PdQ will be even better. I will up grade as soon as the next version becomes available. Put your trust in The Q.

Regards,

L
