Free auction won't fly because buyers and sellers are not committed to the FREE service they are offered. Once you pay to do something you are dedicated. Once you get it FREE, you don't really care. The sellers don't strive to be a honest seller and the buyers don't take them seriously. The end result is that product don't go and nobody makes money. That's why free service is no good. YHOO's free offer was a strategic mistake. That's why Amazon learned the lesson.
