Shows even more how AMD is spending like crazy, while Intel is able to cut costs and still enjoy nice yields.

But if that statement was too much Intel-a-bee for your tastes, then consider this: The lower-than-expected revenues means that AMD and Intel will have to compete in a market that isn't growing as fast as once expected. Who do you think is going to suffer more, Intel or AMD?

Revenues were lower than expected - but the PROFITS were HIGHER than expected.

How were AMD's revenues last quarter?

Higher than expected by any chance?
