Mary,

A three-bagger means your holdings are now worth 3 times what you paid for them. I'm not sure who originally coined the term three-bagger or ten-bagger, but the legendary Peter Lynch often receives the credit.

By the way, I'm glad you decided to try some other SI threads instead of just outright giving up on SI.

And, just to set the record straight (from the ABFG thread), Dave Gore is a well known self-serving tout on SI. He was clearly upset when the CEO of a stock he was holding was found to have a disreputable history of being involved in an insurance scam. Dave has a long documented history of being long the stock before the pump, and out with a profit before the dump. Unfortunately, he often forgot to let his followers know in a timely fashion. Graystone did a short piece on Dave on Dave's own thread, which Dave did not take kindly to. See:

Dave still continues his act to this day, but has toned it down considerably since last year.
