After recovering my data I deleted that partition and subsequently lost access to the exact amount of space of which that partition was comprised. PowerQuest said that such a phenomenon was not "an issue" with L&F

That was heartbreaking. You lost youfound and you lost again. Sounds like trading the market.

I think that L&F has to operate within the context of a partition so it may not work for you if your partitions are gone. You may want to give PQ a call.

I have, in your words, 'lost access', not to one partition but a whole disk. If you are correct about Lost & Found then I'm really screwed. I will give them a call Mon if nothing else comes up today.

Does Lost & Found restore to a winNT drive? My lost drive is (or was) using FAT. But my other 2 drives are both NTFS. Could either of these be used as the restore distination? Thats not exactly clear at the PQ web site.
