Hey, no offense taken man! It helps us all avoid hearing only one side of the argument which I fall prey to too often.. My friend is a nvidia nut, and if history repeats itself, their new card that is due out very shortly will probably blow the doors off of TDFXs vodoo III.. but something I have learned over the years being in sales that has played a very important role in TDFXs success is name recognition. Nvidia (NVDA) is always a few months behind TDFX.. This gives TDFX the edge because they always have a 1-3 month window where they can 'name their price' and they do.. By time the TNT release is out, TDFX already has enjoyed several months of high profit, -sell what you can produce- sales, and it shows in their numbers vs nvidias.. so SURE all the tech. heads prefer nvidia product, but honestly there isnt a worse customer in the world from a profit view point. Tech heads go to shows and cut profit margins to zilch. TDFX has the mom/pop.. they have their logo dominating the store shelves thru deals with various software companies to muscle their name in front of competitors. So what im saying is from a technical perspective, nvidia is probably a much superior product in my opinion. but its sorta like AMD vs INTEL.. I honestly believe for the price/quality, AMD is a much better buy.. I did nothing but loss money investing in AMD :) I try to avoid looking into stocks too deeply from a technical point of view because thats not how business works imo... companies like TDFX will always prosper because of one thing.. Earnings/growth. Now they have the name, so they start dumping their cash into advertising which is all over MTV and VH1 to name a few.. they have posters, rebates, promotions.. all to allow them fatter profits on each sale because of their name.. anyhow.. these are just my wild opinions for what they are worth. I have played TDFX stock for years, actually since the IPO and one things for certain- no matter HOW much we think we know about stocks, TDFX is one of the most difficult to play right. Just look at the dang chart hehe. My biggest one day score came from TDFX a year of so back and I gave all 15k of it back one black day when I learned why you should cut your losses/emotions.. arrggggh
