Thanks for the clarification, Fun. But the market price paid is illusionary since e.g. Nortel paid something like $39 for Bay but just to see this price dropped to $20 since NT shares lost 50% the next day after the announcement. Fortunately the share price usually recovered quite a bit at the time of actual transaction - not the case for NT/Bay at that time.

Is lu/asnd a pooling of interest deal or purchase with stocks. I find these two rather confusing. Which kind of deal has a better advantage to the buyer ?
