John : I was in London, UK, at the time and I remember how frightened the people were. They expected a bomb to fall on them any time. Now, of course, everyone is blase. Couldn't happen again. Bombs only fall on horrible people like the Serbs. We're the good guys.

I don't think gold could have done anything --- the price was pegged at $35. Almost like now, where the price is artificially "pegged" between $280 and $290.

Yes, but I was at university and out on a co-op assignment in Northern
Ontario at the time, so I missed a lot of it. We sure came close then.
